The Goodman B1370198 is a genuine OEM primary high-limit switch engineered for the AMS81405DNA gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana air handlers. This normally-closed thermal safety control monitors heat-exchanger and plenum temperature, opening the burner circuit if the furnace exceeds its 150°F trip point to prevent overheating, cracked heat exchangers, and nuisance shutdowns. If your furnace short-cycles on heat or trips out during long calls, a failed limit switch is a common culprit.
Our OEM Goodman switch ships with the exact factory trip calibration and terminal geometry, so it drops in without rewiring or recalibration. Aftermarket generics may carry looser temperature tolerances that cause premature trips or fail to protect the heat exchanger. For a UL-listed safety component, we recommend genuine OEM.
Easy (2/5). A DIY-friendly repair for handy owners: cut power at the breaker, remove two mounting screws, transfer the spade connectors, and reinstall. A multimeter continuity check confirms the diagnosis in minutes. If you are uncomfortable working near gas components, consult a licensed HVAC technician.
