The B1370198 is a genuine OEM primary high-limit switch designed for the Goodman/Amana AMH80903BNAA gas furnace. Positioned on the heat exchanger deck, the primary limit is the furnace's main overheat guardian: it senses supply-air temperature and shuts down the burners if heat rises beyond safe levels due to insufficient airflow. This automatic-reset 150°F control is one of the most common furnace safeties to fail, showing up as no-heat, short cycling, or the burners lighting then dropping out.
The genuine OEM Goodman part arrives pre-calibrated to the precise 150°F set point and correct disc size your furnace requires. Aftermarket snap-disc limits matched only by temperature can fit physically but may respond differently, leading to nuisance lockouts or delayed protection. Because this is the primary safety limit, we recommend installing the OEM component.
Rated Easy (1/5). Turn off power and gas, pull the two spade connectors, remove the mounting screws, and fit the new limit in the identical position and orientation. Roughly 15 minutes with basic hand tools. Cycle the furnace to confirm proper heating and shutdown.
Note: Persistent limit trips usually point to airflow restriction — inspect the filter, ductwork, and blower before condemning the switch.
