The Goodman B1497204 Fusible Link is a genuine OEM 144°C (291°F) thermal cutoff that protects Goodman GDI125-5 gas furnaces from overheating. This one-time thermal safety link opens the low-voltage control circuit if the furnace exceeds its rated temperature — for example, from a blocked filter, failed blower, or restricted airflow — shutting the unit down before heat damages the cabinet or wiring. Once tripped, the link is non-resettable and must be replaced.
This is the factory OEM Goodman link calibrated to the precise 144°C trip point specified for the GDI125-5. Substituting a link with a different rating compromises the furnace's built-in safety margin. Always match the exact temperature rating — the OEM part guarantees it.
Requires accessing the burner/limit area and disconnecting two spade terminals. Turn off power and gas, locate the link in the control circuit, transfer the connectors, and mount it in the original bracket. Important: a tripped link signals an underlying airflow or safety problem — diagnose and correct the root cause before returning the furnace to service. Typical time: 30–45 minutes.
