The Goodman B1370253 Stack Over-Temperature Limit Switch monitors flue/vent temperature and protects the furnace against overheating in the venting path. It is a direct-fit replacement for the Goodman GSU100-4 and trips at 140°F to interrupt operation when stack temperatures climb outside the safe range.
The precise 140°F trip point is what makes this switch protect correctly without nuisance shutdowns. Because generic replacements often ship at different temperature ratings and terminal styles, the genuine Goodman OEM switch is the safest choice for this over-temp circuit. Never bypass or defeat a stack limit.
Difficulty: Easy (DIY-friendly). Shut off power, remove the two mounting screws, swap the push-on terminals, and remount in the same location so the sensing surface contacts the stack correctly. Repeated tripping usually points to a venting or draft problem — inspect the flue before returning the furnace to service.
