The Goodman B1370155 is a genuine OEM auxiliary (secondary) limit switch designed for the Goodman GMPH080-5 gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. Typically mounted near the blower compartment, it provides backup over-temperature protection — opening the control circuit if temperatures climb from restricted airflow, such as a dirty filter or blocked return. It works alongside the primary limit to keep the furnace operating safely.
The genuine Goodman switch is calibrated to the 120°F auxiliary trip point and matches the mounting location and bracket your furnace uses. Generic replacements may trip at the wrong temperature or require modified brackets, undermining a safety control. For dependable over-temp protection, OEM is recommended.
Easy — two mounting screws and two spade connectors. Shut off power and gas before servicing. 15–20 minutes for most DIYers; consult a licensed HVAC technician if the switch trips repeatedly, as it often signals an airflow problem.
