The Goodman B1370155 Auxiliary Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control engineered for the GMTH045-3B gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This normally-closed thermal switch opens at approximately 120°F to interrupt the ignition sequence if it detects an overheat or airflow-restriction condition, protecting the heat exchanger and blower housing from damage. It is a primary safety component — a failed or nuisance-tripping limit switch is one of the most common causes of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts down.
This is the factory-specified Goodman part with the exact trip temperature and terminal configuration your furnace's control logic expects. Generic universal limit switches often use a different cut-out point or bracket, which can cause premature tripping or fail to protect at the correct threshold. For a safety-critical control, we recommend the OEM part.
Easy (2/5). Two spade terminals and one or two mounting screws. Always cut power at the disconnect before servicing. If you are unsure why the original switch failed, have a qualified HVAC technician confirm there is no underlying overheat condition.
