The Goodman B1370155 Auxiliary Limit Switch is a genuine OEM 120°F high-limit safety control for the ADV80703BXA gas furnace and other compatible Goodman and Amana models. This auxiliary limit protects a secondary area of the furnace — typically the blower compartment or a specific downstream location — by opening the control circuit if temperatures climb past the safe threshold, most often due to restricted airflow from a dirty filter, blocked ducts, or a failing blower.
The switch trips at 120°F and is designed to reset automatically once temperatures return to normal, allowing the furnace to resume operation without a manual reset while still guarding against overheat conditions.
The 120°F setpoint on this auxiliary limit is specific to the furnace's design. Installing a switch with a different trip point can lead to nuisance shutdowns or inadequate overheat protection. The OEM B1370155 ensures the correct trip temperature and a direct-fit electrical and mechanical connection.
Easy to moderate. After shutting off power, disconnect the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screws, and install the replacement in the same orientation. If the switch trips frequently, first check the air filter, ductwork, and blower operation before assuming the switch is faulty. Professional diagnosis is recommended for recurring trips.
