Rated at 40VA, it powers the thermostat, contactor coil, gas valve, and ignition control. The kit includes the 24V barrier (OEM #1178431) for safe, code-compliant wiring separation. When a transformer fails, the entire low-voltage control circuit goes dead — the system will not respond to the thermostat, the contactor will not pull in, and there will be no call for heat or cool.
