Overview

This OEM ignitor electrode (part 1179966) provides the spark that lights the burners on the ICP / Heil / Tempstar RGS214HSAA0AAAA furnace. On a call for heat, the control board sends high voltage to the electrode tip, producing a spark across the gap to ignite the gas. A cracked ceramic insulator, eroded electrode tip, incorrect gap, or carbon fouling will cause weak or no ignition, lockouts, and intermittent no-heat complaints. Because the electrode sits directly in the burner flame path, it is a normal wear item.

Installation Guide
