Overview

OEM part 1179966 is the igniter electrode for the ICP/Heil/Tempstar RGS300HSEA0AAAA gas furnace. The electrode produces the high-voltage spark that lights the burner gas during the ignition sequence and, on many designs, also serves as the flame-sensing rod that proves the burner is lit. A cracked ceramic insulator, eroded electrode tip, or carbon buildup leads to failed ignition, repeated lockouts, or short-cycling on flame loss.
