This is the OEM igniter electrode (part 1179966) for the ICP/Heil/Tempstar RGS300HFAA0AAAA gas furnace. The igniter electrode creates the spark that lights the burner gas on each heating cycle and, depending on configuration, also serves as the flame-sensing electrode that proves the burner has lit. A cracked ceramic insulator, eroded electrode tip, or carbon buildup leads to failed ignition, repeated lockouts, or short cycling — leaving the home with no heat.

Installation Guide
