Overview

This OEM igniter electrode (part number 1179966) is the ignition and flame-sensing component for the ICP/Heil/Tempstar RGS243LDEA0AAAA gas furnace. The electrode delivers the spark that lights the burners on each heating call and senses the resulting flame to keep the gas valve open. When the electrode cracks, corrodes, or its tip erodes, the furnace will fail to light, light then immediately shut down (flame-sense lockout), or short-cycle.
