Overview

This OEM igniter electrode (part 1179966) creates the high-voltage spark that lights the burner on your ICP RGS243HEFA0AAAA furnace. On each call for heat the control board energizes the electrode, the spark ignites the gas, and the flame is then confirmed by the sensing circuit. A cracked ceramic insulator, an eroded or misaligned electrode tip, or a carbon-fouled gap will produce a weak or absent spark — so the furnace clicks but never lights, locks out after several failed trials, or short-cycles on ignition failure. Because the electrode sits directly in the burner flame path, the ceramic and metal degrade over time and the part is a routine wear replacement.
