Overview

This genuine OEM hot surface igniter (part 1171306) with its matching wiring harness kit (part 1188370) is the ignition source for the ICP/Tempstar/Heil RGS090SFBB0AAA gas furnace. On every heat call, the control board sends line voltage to the igniter, which glows red-hot to ignite the gas at the burners. Hot surface igniters are brittle and degrade over time — the silicon-carbide or nitride element develops micro-cracks from thermal cycling and eventually fails to reach ignition temperature.
