Overview

This OEM ignition kit pairs the hot surface igniter, ICP part 1171306, with its dedicated wiring kit, part 1188370, for the Tempstar / Heil RGS120LTBA0AAA gas furnace. The hot surface igniter (HSI) is the element that glows white-hot on a call for heat to ignite the burner gas — it replaces older standing-pilot and spark systems. The included wiring kit provides the correct OEM connector and lead harness so the igniter mates cleanly to the furnace control without splicing. HSIs are fragile and degrade with every heating cycle; the element eventually cracks, develops hairline fractures, or simply burns out. A failed igniter is the single most common reason a furnace inducer runs but the burners never light.
