Overview

This OEM hot surface igniter (HSI) assembly ignites the main burners on your ICP, Tempstar, or Heil gas furnace. The kit includes igniter #1176919, igniter mounting bracket #1183455, and HSI snap valve #1176929 (36J24618). When the thermostat calls for heat, the control board energizes the igniter; it glows white-hot and lights the gas at the burner. A cracked or burned-out igniter is the leading cause of no-heat furnace failures. Watch for the furnace attempting to start but never lighting, an igniter that glows yet fails to ignite gas, or the unit locking out after several failed attempts. These ceramic igniters are brittle — handle only by the base and never touch the glowing element.

Installation Guide
