This OEM hot surface igniter kit for the ICP / Tempstar / Heil RGS102LFCA0AAA furnace includes the igniter (part 1171306) and the matching igniter wiring kit (part 1188370). The hot surface igniter glows red-hot when the furnace begins a heating cycle, igniting the gas at the burners. Because it is a brittle silicon-carbide or silicon-nitride element exposed to repeated heat cycling, it is one of the most common furnace wear items. A cracked or failed igniter is the typical cause of a furnace that clicks and draws but never lights, or that runs the inducer and then locks out on ignition failure.
