This is the genuine OEM hot surface igniter (part 1171306) for the ICP / Tempstar / Heil RGS101HTBA0AAAA gas furnace, available with the matching igniter wiring kit (part 1188370). The hot surface igniter is the heating element that glows red-hot at the start of every heat cycle to ignite the gas as it leaves the burners. Because the element is brittle silicon carbide or silicon nitride that is heated and cooled hundreds of times per season, it is the single most common no-heat failure on modern furnaces.
