Overview

This OEM hot surface igniter (part 606996) is the ignition source for the ICP (International Comfort Products) WUGE125AH01 gas furnace. On each call for heat the control board energizes the igniter, which glows red-hot to light the burners. Igniters are the most common furnace wear item — the brittle silicon carbide or silicon nitride element degrades with every heating cycle and eventually cracks. When it fails, the draft inducer and gas valve sequence may run but the burners never light, leaving you with no heat.
