Overview

This OEM ICP hot surface igniter (part #1179966) is the electrode that lights your gas furnace. On each call for heat, the control board sends voltage to the igniter, which glows red-hot and ignites the gas at the burners. Hot surface igniters are brittle and degrade over time from repeated thermal cycling, making them one of the most frequent no-heat failure points. Common symptoms include a furnace that clicks and tries to start but never lights, a cracked or visibly white/blistered igniter element, short-cycling on ignition lockout, or an igniter that no longer glows when energized.

Installation Guide
