Overview

This genuine OEM igniter electrode (part #1179966) provides the ignition source for the ICP/Heil/Tempstar RGS213SEAA0AAAA furnace. On each heat call the control board energizes the igniter, which heats to ignition temperature and lights the gas at the burners while the flame sensor confirms a successful light. Igniters are brittle and consumable: thermal cycling eventually cracks the element, and a failed igniter is the single most common cause of a furnace that won't light.
