Overview
This OEM igniter electrode (part number 1179966) is the ignition source for the ICP/Tempstar/Heil RGS213STAA0AAAA gas furnace. On each heating call the furnace control board energizes the igniter, which heats until it is hot enough to light the gas at the burners. As a wear item, the igniter element becomes brittle and eventually cracks or burns out from repeated thermal cycling.
