Overview

This genuine OEM gas valve support bracket (part 1178238) for the ICP / Tempstar / Heil RGS120SFAB0AGAA gas furnace mounts and stabilizes the gas valve within the burner/manifold assembly. The bracket holds the valve in correct alignment with the manifold and gas piping so the burner orifices fire evenly and the valve isn't stressed by the weight of connected piping. A bent, corroded, or missing bracket can let the gas valve shift, strain the inlet/outlet connections, and create alignment problems at the burners. This is a mechanical support component — it does not contain the valve's gas-control internals.
