This is a genuine OEM gas valve support bracket (part 1178238) for the ICP/Tempstar/Heil RGS120HEBA0AAA gas furnace. The bracket rigidly mounts the gas valve to the burner assembly, holding the valve, manifold, and gas piping in correct alignment so the burners fire cleanly and the valve is not stressed by the weight of the gas train. A bent, corroded, or broken bracket allows the valve and manifold to shift, which can misalign burners, strain the gas connection, or create a vibration/rattle during operation.
