Overview

The ICP 34332101 Defrost Control Board is the OEM brain of the defrost cycle on the Tempstar/Heil YK060GC2 heat pump. It monitors coil temperature and run time, then commands the system into and out of defrost so frost cannot build up on the outdoor coil during heating season. The board manages the reversing valve, outdoor fan, and auxiliary heat staging during each defrost event. When this board fails you typically see a coil that ices over, a unit that never defrosts, or one that goes into defrost constantly and blows cold air indoors. Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the disconnect and breaker; verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
