Overview

This OEM defrost control board (part #34332101) is the brain of the defrost cycle on the ICP / Tempstar / Heil YK060G heat pump. In heating mode the outdoor coil collects frost; the defrost board monitors coil temperature and run time, then commands the reversing valve, energizes auxiliary heat, and shuts the outdoor fan to melt the ice before returning to normal operation. When the board fails, the unit ices over and loses heating capacity, gets stuck in defrost, or won't switch between heating and cooling at all. Replacing the board restores correct, energy-efficient defrost timing and protects the compressor.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the disconnect and breaker, then verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
2. Access — Remove the control-box / electrical access panel.
3. Document — Photograph every connector and wire on the existing board before disconnecting.
4. Remove — Unplug each harness, release the board standoffs or mounting screws, and lift the old board out.
5. Install — Seat the new board on its standoffs and reconnect each harness to the matching terminal per your photo. Set any defrost timing jumper to match the old board.
6. Test — Restore power, confirm the unit runs in heating, and verify a forced or timed defrost cycle completes and returns to normal.
