Overview

This OEM defrost control board (part number 34332101) is the brain of the defrost cycle on your ICP, Tempstar, and Heil YK036G2 heat pump. During heating mode, frost and ice naturally build on the outdoor coil. The defrost control board monitors coil temperature and run time, then commands the reversing valve and outdoor fan to clear that ice so the system keeps heating efficiently. When this 24V board fails, the heat pump may ice over completely, fail to enter or exit defrost, short-cycle, or stop heating altogether. Replacing the board restores correct defrost timing and protects the compressor from liquid slugging.

Installation Guide

4. Remove — Label and unplug each connector, release the board mounting standoffs/screws, and lift out the old defrost board.
5. Install — Mount the new 34332101 board, then reconnect every wire to the matching terminal per your photo.
