Overview

This genuine OEM defrost control board (part number 34332101) is the brain of the defrost cycle on the ICP / Tempstar / Heil YJ060G2 heat pump. During heating mode, frost builds on the outdoor coil; the defrost board monitors coil temperature and elapsed run time, then commands the reversing valve and shuts off the outdoor fan to melt that frost before returning to heating. It also coordinates compressor timing and outdoor fan operation. When this board fails, the heat pump can ice over, lose heating capacity, short-cycle, or run the auxiliary heat strips constantly — driving up the power bill.
