This genuine OEM defrost control board (part number 1069364) manages the defrost cycle on the ICP/Tempstar/Heil YJ024GA2 heat pump. Using inputs from the defrost thermostat/sensor and an internal timer, the board decides when to reverse the system into defrost mode to melt frost off the outdoor coil, energizes the reversing valve and auxiliary heat, and controls the condenser fan during the cycle.
