This genuine OEM defrost control board (part number 1069364) is the logic center for the heat pump defrost cycle on the ICP / Tempstar / Heil YG036GC9. The board monitors coil temperature and run time, then commands the reversing valve and stops the outdoor fan to clear frost from the outdoor coil during heating operation. When the defrost board fails, the outdoor coil ices over, heating capacity drops, the compressor can short-cycle, and in some cases the unit will not run at all.
