Overview

This genuine OEM defrost control board (part number 34332101) is the brain of the defrost cycle on the ICP / Heil / Tempstar YG018GC2 heat pump. Using the defrost thermostat input and a selectable timer interval, it decides when to interrupt heating, energize the reversing valve, stop the outdoor fan, and clear frost from the outdoor coil. A failed board leaves the coil iced over (killing heating capacity) or runs the unit through needless defrosts that blow cold air indoors. It also coordinates the contactor and reversing valve coil during the cycle, so a faulty board can mimic several other failures.
