Overview

This OEM contactor set covers both the 2-pole 30-amp contactor (part 1171554) and the 3-pole 40-amp contactor (part 1172449), each with a 24-volt control coil, for ICP, Heil, and Tempstar equipment. A contactor is the high-current switch that powers the compressor and condenser fan motor. When the thermostat calls for cooling, the 24V coil pulls the contacts closed and sends line voltage to the compressor. Contactors fail from pitted or welded contacts, a burned-out coil, or insect intrusion — causing units that won't start, won't shut off, hum, or chatter. Replacing a worn contactor restores clean, reliable switching and protects the compressor from low-voltage damage.
