Overview

This OEM 40VA control transformer (part #97298) converts the WUGD150CK01's 120V line voltage to the 24V control voltage that runs the thermostat circuit, gas valve, and relays. The kit also includes the OEM 24V SPDT relay (part #92840). When the transformer fails, the furnace's low-voltage controls go completely dead — no thermostat response, no blower on a heat call, and no ignition. Buzzing, overheating, or a repeatedly blown control fuse are the classic warning signs.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the furnace switch and breaker. Verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
2. Access — Remove the control/junction panel.
3. Document — Photograph every primary and secondary wire and relay connection before disconnecting.
4. Remove — Label and disconnect the leads, then remove the transformer/relay mounting screws.
5. Install — Mount the new transformer, wire the 120V primary and 24V secondary per your photo, and seat the relay in its receptacle.
6. Test — Restore power and confirm 24V across the secondary, then run a full heat cycle.
