Overview

This OEM control transformer (part 1173691) steps 208/230V line voltage down to 24V to power the low-voltage control circuit — thermostat, contactor coil, gas valve, and control board — on the ICP WPG4424060RKA1. Rated at 40VA, it supplies the inrush and holding current the system needs. The included 24V barrier (part 1178431) provides the required isolation/terminal protection. A failed transformer produces a dead control circuit: no 24V, blank thermostat, and a system that will not energize even with line power present. Shorted control wiring or a stuck contactor will overload and burn out the secondary winding.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power, verify zero voltage with a multimeter.

4. Remove — Unbolt the transformer, then disconnect primary and secondary leads, noting the 208 vs 230 tap.
5. Install — Mount the new transformer and barrier, match the correct primary tap, and reconnect 24V leads per your photo.
6. Test — Restore power, confirm ~24-28V across the secondary, and verify the contactor/board energize on a call.
