Overview
This OEM transformer kit fits the ICP / Tempstar / Heil WPG4364090LKB1 packaged unit and includes the 40VA step-down transformer (part number 1173691) and its 24V barrier (part number 1178431). The transformer steps line voltage of 208/230V down to the 24V control voltage that powers the thermostat, gas valve, contactor coil, control board, and safety circuit. A failed transformer is one of the most common no-power / no-response failures: when it opens or shorts, the entire low-voltage control system goes dead and the unit will not respond to a call for heat or cool. The included barrier provides the required separation between line and low-voltage wiring.

Installation Guide
- Safety First — Disconnect power at the unit and breaker, then verify zero voltage with a multimeter at the transformer primary leads.
- Access — Remove the control / blower panel to reach the transformer and barrier on the control deck.
- Document — Photograph the primary tap (208 vs 230), secondary leads, and barrier placement before disconnecting.
- Remove — Label and disconnect all leads, then unbolt the failed transformer and old barrier from the panel.
- Install — Mount the new transformer and barrier, land the correct primary tap for your supply voltage, and reconnect the 24V secondary per your photo.
- Test — Restore power and confirm a steady 24-28V across the secondary and normal control response.
