Overview

This ICP 40VA control transformer (OEM #1173691) steps the line-voltage 208/230V supply down to the 24V control voltage used by the WPG3424060LKC1's thermostat, control board, gas valve, and contactor. It ships with the matching 24V barrier (OEM #1178431) used to isolate and protect the low-voltage terminals. Without a working transformer, the unit has no control power — the thermostat goes dark and nothing energizes. A blown or shorted transformer is a frequent culprit when a system is completely unresponsive despite having line power.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the unit disconnect. Verify zero voltage with a multimeter on both primary and secondary.
2. Access — Remove the control compartment service panel.
3. Document — Photograph all primary and secondary leads and the barrier position before disconnecting.
4. Remove — Disconnect the leads, remove the mounting screws, and lift out the old transformer and barrier.
5. Install — Mount the new transformer, install the 24V barrier, and reconnect the primary (line) and secondary (24V) leads exactly per your photo.
6. Test — Restore power and confirm 24V at the secondary and that the thermostat and controls power up.
