This OEM control transformer (OEM 1173691) steps 208/230V line power down to the 24V control voltage that runs the contactor coil, defrost board, and thermostat circuit in your ICP/Tempstar/Heil WPA3244000RKC1 heat pump. Rated at 40VA, it supplies the low-voltage power the entire control system depends on. The kit also includes the 24V terminal barrier (OEM 1176144) used to organize and protect the low-voltage connections. - Access — Remove the condenser control-panel cover to expose the transformer.
- Document — Photograph the primary (line) and secondary (24V) leads and the barrier connections before disconnecting.
- Remove — Disconnect the leads, unbolt the transformer from the panel, and remove the old barrier if reusing the location.
- Install — Mount the new transformer and barrier, then reconnect each lead to the matching terminal per your photo.
- Test — Restore power and verify 24V across the secondary terminals and normal system operation.
