It steps the 208/230V line voltage down to the 24V needed by the thermostat, contactor coil, control board, and safety switches. When a transformer fails, the entire low-voltage control system goes dead — no thermostat call, no contactor pull-in, and no cooling or heating — even though line voltage is present. The included barrier protects and isolates the secondary terminals to prevent shorts.

Installation Guide
