This genuine OEM 40VA control transformer (OEM 1172028) steps 208/230V line voltage down to 24V to power the low-voltage control circuit of the ICP / Tempstar / Heil WAPT604A1 air handler. The 40VA rating provides enough capacity to drive the thermostat, control board, relays, and contactor coil simultaneously. A failed transformer leaves the entire 24V side dead — no thermostat display, no blower or heat call, and no relay action. Using the correct 40VA OEM unit ensures the control circuit has the rated power it needs and that the primary taps match your supply voltage.

Installation Guide
