Overview

This OEM 24-volt control transformer assembly supplies low-voltage control power for the ICP / Tempstar / Heil YK060G heat pump, energizing the 24V components on the unit including the reversing-valve coil (#34329055) and the 24V control relays (#96467, #1053004). The transformer steps line voltage down to a clean 24VAC at roughly 40VA so contactors, relays, and the reversing-valve solenoid switch reliably on every call. A failed transformer leaves the entire low-voltage control circuit dead — the thermostat goes blank or the unit simply won't respond, even though line power is present.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the disconnect and breaker, then verify zero voltage with a multimeter.

4. Remove — Disconnect the line-voltage primary and 24V secondary leads, then unbolt the old transformer or relay from its bracket.
5. Install — Mount the new component, reconnect primary and secondary leads exactly per your photo, and confirm tight terminals.
6. Test — Restore power and confirm 24VAC across the secondary, then verify the relays and reversing valve energize on a control call.
