Overview

This OEM 24-volt control transformer supplies low-voltage power to the control circuit of the ICP / Tempstar / Heil RHS150S0AA0AAAA heat pump, including the reversing-valve coil (PN 1172619), the 24V DPDT changeover relay (PN 1183814), and the reversing valve assembly (PN 1175367). The transformer steps line voltage down to a stable 24VAC at 40VA so the contactor, defrost board, and reversing valve receive clean, regulated control power. When a transformer fails, the entire low-voltage circuit goes dead — the system will not energize the contactor, the thermostat screen may go blank, and heating/cooling calls produce no response. Common failure causes are a shorted reversing-valve coil drawing excess current, a wiring short, or age-related insulation breakdown.
