Overview

This OEM 24-volt control transformer supplies low-voltage power to the control circuit of the ICP / Tempstar / Heil RHS150L0EA0AAAA heat pump, including the reversing-valve coil (PN 1172619), the 24V DPDT changeover relay (PN 1183814), and the reversing valve assembly (PN 1175367). It steps line voltage down to a stable 24VAC at 40VA so the contactor, defrost board, and reversing valve all receive clean, regulated control power. A failed transformer kills the entire low-voltage circuit: the contactor won't pull in, the thermostat may go dark, and the system produces no heating or cooling. Typical causes are a shorted reversing-valve coil drawing excess current, a control-wiring short, or age-related insulation breakdown.
