Overview

This OEM 2-pole definite-purpose contactor is the electrically operated switch that energizes the compressor and condenser fan motor on your ICP RGS101HTAB0AAAA system. When the thermostat calls for cooling, the 24-volt control circuit energizes the contactor coil, pulling the contacts closed and sending line voltage to the high-amperage loads. Two amperage ratings are available for this model: part 1178074 (30A) and part 1178211 (40A). Both use a 24V coil. A failing contactor is one of the most common causes of a no-cool service call — pitted, welded, or chattering contacts prevent the unit from starting or cause it to run continuously.
