Overview

This OEM contactor is the high-voltage switch that energizes the compressor and condenser fan in your ICP RH5320242 system. When the thermostat calls for cooling, the 24V coil pulls the contacts closed and sends line voltage to the load; when the call ends, the contacts open. Two configurations fit this model: a 2-pole 30A contactor (part 1280263) and a 1-pole 23A contactor (part 1280013), both with a 24V coil. Contactors are wear items — every cycle arcs the contacts a little more. Pitted, welded, or chattering contacts cause hard starts, a compressor that won't run, or a unit that won't shut off.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the disconnect and breaker, then verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
2. Access — Remove the service panel to reach the contactor in the control area.
3. Document — Photograph all line, load, and 24V coil wiring before disconnecting.
4. Remove — Transfer one wire at a time, or label each lead, then unscrew the old contactor from its bracket.
5. Install — Mount the new contactor and reconnect every wire to the matching terminal per your photo.
6. Test — Restore power, call for cooling, and confirm the contactor pulls in cleanly and the compressor runs.
