Overview

This is the genuine OEM definite-purpose contactor (part number 14306502) for the ICP / Tempstar / Heil YC042G heat pump. The contactor is the high-voltage switch that powers the compressor and condenser fan motor whenever the 24V control circuit calls. This is a 1-pole, 30 amp unit with a 24-volt coil. As the contactor wears, its contacts pit, arc, and eventually weld closed or fail open — leaving the outdoor unit dead, buzzing, or running continuously. It is one of the most common and least expensive failures on a condensing unit.

Installation Guide

4. Remove — Label and disconnect the wires, then unscrew the old contactor from its bracket.
5. Install — Mount the new contactor, reconnect each wire to the matching terminal per your photo, and land the 24V coil leads.
6. Test — Restore power and verify the contactor pulls in cleanly and the compressor and fan energize on a call.
