Overview

This OEM 1-pole 30-amp definite purpose contactor (ICP part 1172472) with a 24V coil and integrated shunt switches line power to the compressor and condenser fan on the ICP WCH3362GKR2 heat pump. When the thermostat calls and the 24V coil energizes, the contactor pulls in and sends high-voltage power to the compressor. Contactors are one of the most common HVAC failure points — the contacts pit, burn, and weld over thousands of cycles. Symptoms of a failing contactor include a unit that won't start, a loud humming or buzzing at the contactor, contacts that stick closed so the unit never shuts off, or burnt/pitted contact faces.
