Overview

This OEM single-pole 25-amp contactor (part 1050699) is the high-voltage switch that energizes the compressor and condenser fan on the ICP / Tempstar / Heil YK042G heat pump. Its 24V coil pulls the contacts closed whenever the thermostat calls, passing line voltage to the compressor. Contactors are one of the most common failure points in a condensing unit: the contacts pit and burn from constant arcing, and the coil can short or stick. Failure symptoms include a unit that hums but won't start, a compressor that won't engage, chattering at the contactor, or contacts that weld shut and keep the system running continuously.
