This OEM-matched single run capacitor kit contains both factory-specified capacitors for the Carrier PY1PPB036090NBAA packaged heat pump unit: the P291-0403 (4 MFD, 370V) for the condenser fan motor and the P291-1503 (15 MFD, 370V) for the compressor. Run capacitors store and release an electrical charge to keep PSC motors spinning efficiently at steady-state operation. When one or both fail, symptoms include a humming unit with no motor start, the compressor short-cycling, the fan running while the compressor does not (or vice versa), or the unit tripping on thermal overload due to motor strain.
